Which is it? Grizzly Bear or Brown Bear?

Color has no bearing.

Guides in Alaska will tell you, and it is pretty much widely accepted that bears living within 100 miles of shoreline along coastal regions, are known as Brown bears or Brownies.
North of the 62nd parallel and living in the more remote interior regions of this vast state is the area of the Grizzly.

Though genetically the same, Alaskan coastal bears live on salmon, which is high in protein. Along with less severe or should I say milder weather, these bears tend to be larger in size than the bears living in the interior.
